Veneers

Of all the cosmetic dental procedures today, porcelain veneers are one of the best options for improving your smile. They have become increasingly popular due to their simplicity and versatility.

What are Porcelain Veneers?
Porcelain veneers are thin shells of ceramic that bond directly to the front surfaces of the teeth. When bonded to the teeth, the ultra-thin porcelain veneers are virtually undetectable and highly resistant to coffee, tea or even tobacco stains.

Why are veneers so popular?
Veneers can correct teeth that are disproportionate, misaligned, crowded and twisted or even structurally damaged. The ceramic shells are chemically bonded to the tooth with newly developed materials and adhesion agents. The natural cosmetic result is superior to what can usually be achieved with the “capped” look of a crown or bridge or with veneers made from resin composite.

How are veneers done?
The procedure involves ‘prepping’ or shaping the tooth to make room for the veneers. Temporary acrylic veneers are individually fashioned and impressions are taken and sent to the dental lab. The lab usually takes about three weeks to fabricate the veneers from impressions.

Dr. Parker’s extensive post-graduate training has provided him with the knowledge and skills to give you veneers that will look beautiful and maintain the structural integrity of your teeth.

Will my veneers look natural?
By using the proportions of the Golden Mean, we ensure that your veneers will fit the individual contours of your face and smile. For most cases, we will have a wax model made so that you can work with Dr. Parker to individually shape each veneer to fit your unique needs. Our close working relationship with the ceramics lab will make certain that you will get the best result possible.

For strength and appearance, porcelain veneers provide a resemblance to healthy, white tooth enamel that is unsurpassed by other restorative options. No wonder they are one of the most popular and successful procedures we use for changing your smile!
